I was responsible for the experience strategy and design across all SafeAuto interfaces and channels.
I led the full design process, from goals and needs identification, flows and wireframe development, collaboration and presentation to all key stakeholders, high-fidelity mock-ups, working prototypes, front end development and user acceptance testing.
Our goal was to enhance the functionality of the Quote/Bind, Quick-Pay, Policy Management, AutoPilot and Mobile Application (native iOS and Android) by providing customers a greater selection of payment options. The existing applications allowed customers to pay with their checking account and with an electronic check. The new functionality would allow customers to pay with a credit or debit card in addition to their checking account and electronic check. We also wanted to give customers the option to store a credit or debit card. With these new benefits, we hoped to add value and create deeper relationships with our customers.
We were tasked with integrating a third-party credit card payment processing solution within the existing architecture of all five applications. Once I understood the business goals, I crafted an experience strategy that emphasized building a seamless UI to cultivate trust with our users while integrating it with other internal systems.
I utilized white board sketching, prototyping and design mockups to share the vision, design principles and content strategy to gain consensus and approval from senior leadership. This early team‐wide alignment sparked tons of great ideas and created a strong sense of ownership across all disciplines within the organisation.
Once the designs of all the applications were approved, the engineering teams began the implementation. Throughout this process, I collaborated with each of the engineering teams and the project manager to translate features and work through any development concerns or challenges.
